Student Connections
The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson is the health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi.
The objective of the Student Connections project is to implement UMMC student and academic processes in UM Oxford's instance of SAP Student Life Cycle Management and Sigma Systems ProSAM.

Informal discussions between the two campuses began in Summer 2007, and the project officially started in June 2008 when it received Mississippi Information Technology Services (ITS) approval.
The project kick-off was held on Monday September 8, 2008 at the UMMC Fall Faculty meeting. "Go live" is scheduled for October 2008 with intermediate milestones in March 2009 (Financial Aid), May 2009 (Student Master Data, Policy Directory) and Summer 2009 (Student Accounting).

Recommendations
The Student Connections project requires the review and analysis of numerous student and academic processes. Issues that are primarily technical in nature will be decided and documented by the UMMC and UM Oxford technical teams. Issues that have functional impact will be addressed by developing recommendations using a standard template and presenting them to the Steering Committee for review and approval.
